10 Ways to Increase Your Hub Page, Website, and Blog Views

By SusieQ42

If your hub page, blog, or website views aren't meeting your expectations, then try some of the hints below to increase your views and your income. We're all trying to make a little extra money, myself included. I love earning an income on the internet. Being able to stay home to make money is my dream, and it enables me to have the freedom to set my own hours. I can finally work as much as I want, or as little as I want with no boss hanging over my shoulder telling me what to do. If I want to take a day off in the middle of the week I can do it without even asking!

Increasing views to our hub page, blog, and website articles isn't really all that hard. It entails being aware of including these few things while writing an article. I find it easy to forget because I'm totally immersed in writing the article. Then I go back and revise my articles in order to increase views to my hub page articles and blog entries.

1.) Key words are important, as we all know. But what key words are the most popular? What are the hot topics today? What topics get the most views? It is very easy to find out. Just enter "popular key words" in your search engine and you will find several websites that list the most popular topics. These are the topics that thousands of people are searching everyday on their computer. The lists show not only the topic, but how many people are actually reading them. Choose a topic and do your research. Then sit down and write your article. You'll more than likely find your article getting plenty of attention!

2.) Key words again...place them in at least three places in your article. If your topic is employment, then be sure to include this word in text of your article. Place the key word at the beginning of your article, and then again in the middle, and at the end. I write articles for clients and they stress placing the key words they list at least 3 times within the context of the article. Some ask to have their key words placed 5 times or more within the article! Some ask for only one keyword and others may give me a series of words.

3.) Articles that are at least 400 words long get more attention than shorter articles. I've been through my articles here on hub pages and added more content to make them at least 400 words or more. It worked! (You can go click on "stats" at the top of your article to find the word count.) Poems aren't very long so of course, you can't do this. Poems, by the way, don't really get that many views. I love to write an occasional poem though, but when looking at my account I see that the ones at the bottom of the list, with the lowest scores, are mostly the poems. What can I do about this? I can increase the views to my hub page articles by increasing the number of words in my poems, by putting them on social network sites and linking them to other articles.

4.) Original content is important when writing articles for your hub page articles, blogs, and your website. I know its not always the easiest thing to do because I have a number of hubs that aren't completely original. After all, how can you make an article about Michelangelo totally original? They are not copied word for word, of course, but they still are not completely original. You can add some of your own thoughts and feelings about him or possibly a video or a picture you may have, but basically it's internet research and books that makes up the larger portion of the hub. I collect books on topics that I think people will find interesting, then I try to incorporate both types of research in the article.

5.) Viable content is also important. Be sure what you write is true and can be proven to be true. When someone researches information, they don't want to find that what they learned from the article is the wrong information.

6.) Writing a short summary of each article you write will get it more attention because the viewer will be more attracted to it. They will be able to see what the article is about. Try to write a couple of sentences about what the hub is about. You could also include your key words in the summary! (Summary is found next to "tags" on hub pages.)

7.) Pictures- Having your own digital camera or a cell phone with a camera is perfect for adding some zest to your article. Hub pages doesn't score articles as high when you're pulling all of your photos from the internet. I try to get some of my pictures from facebook or have my kids email me pictures they have taken. I even give my daughter pictures that I have in my photo album to scan for me, then she emails them to me. But there are always photos that I get from websites like free images.com or Christian photos.net. They are free for the taking. I don't have to join or pay to use their images.

8) Proper grammar and punctuation are 2 important aspects of writing an article that will get many views, whether the article is for hub pages, your blog, or your website. People may visit your hub, but they may not stay there. Too many errors doesn't make for a pretty hub or easy reading. Check your punctuation and grammar. Revise and edit before publishing the articles that you write. Read them over to make sure you have no spelling errors and be sure you don't have any typing errors . I've written at least a half dozen articles about the proper use of punctuation and grammar, about the most common misused words, etc. and I've included the links below for anyone who would like a few tips, so feel free to read them if you would like. Hopefully they will help you to write an article that will get you the most views.

9.) Get involved in the forums! Participating in the forums will increase your traffic and your earnings. Ask questions and answer questions. I've been trying to take time to do this lately because I WANT to earn more money. And it gives you a chance to meet new hubbers and old.

10.) Link your articles to others that you write. I try to do this (see below) because it brings more views to your web site. You can also add Amazon and Ebay links to sell products that are associated with your topic and you make a commission on the sales! I've earned a little extra by sales on Ebay and Amazon so don't forget to do this.

Hi Susie,

I'm so glad you posted this hub, it contains very useful information for us all.

I am finding too that the title of my hubs makes a big impact on the amount of views I get. For example, "6 Ways to Increase Your Hub Page, Website, and Blog Views" immediately got my attention and made me want to read your hub from start to finish!

Hubpages has a neat feature in "my account" called "title tuner" whereby it makes suggestions for keywords that we might want to consider adding in our titles to make them more effective for the search engines...it works very well.

Keep on writing, Susie! Your hubs are very impressive.

Voted up & useful,

Cloverleaf.

Excellent hub Susie! By posting your hub on Twitter, Facebook or GooglePlus you could also achieve more hits and views. If you don't have these accounts ask a friend or family member who does. Excellent point about grammar, it's so important.

Susieq42 8 months ago

Hi Clover, Sunshine! Glad you could visit. Yes, I've seen the title tuner but not used it. I thought about making the title of this hub just "6 Ways to Increase Your Hub Page Views" but decided that hub page people aren't the only ones who read our hub. Also those with blogs and websites of their own. Sunshine, I do click on FB and Twitter too. I have accounts with both but I didn't think of putting it in this hub, though. There are a couple others I thought of after writing this, but darn, they've already slipped my mind. :O

Awesome hub Susie, you have detailed all the crucial points.

Speaking of addiction to HP, I am a confirmed addict (can't keep off HP)But is it just a newbie syndrome or do seasoned hubbers also suffer from it?

Pls keep posting new hubs on different ways to boost both blog and Hubpages traffic. Thanks!

Thanks for the vote of confidence! I am addicted, yes, yes, yes!

Awesome hub, Susie! Thank you. I am having trouble with traffic to my hubs because when I first do a new article, I will get an average of 60 views for all of my hubs that day. Then the traffic drops down. I recently put my hubs into groups, and in one day, traffic tripled. Now I am back to a few hits a day. It's getting frustrating. I am definately going to try some of your tips. Thanks again!

SusieQ42 profile image

SusieQ42 Hub Author 3 months ago

I would like to know how to put hubs into groups. The other tips I use nearly every day. I get roughly 200 views a day, sometimes more, depending on how much work I put into them. Just a little editing improves my traffic. Thanks so much for reading this. I appreciate it.

Under your statistics page their is a section for naming the naming of general groups you want to put your hubs into. For example, if you have mote hubs Luke this one, you could bane it " improve your hubs", or something like that. Then you will be able to add all your hubs to that group using the drop and drag method. It helps, because then a couple of other hubs that you have listed in that group, with their titles, will show up at the bottom of the article you just wrote, pointing readers in the direction of your other hubs. Hope this helps

SusieQ42 Hub Author 3 months ago

Yes, it does help! I noticed that under "statistics" I could group them but never really knew how. Thank you, jenn!

SusieQ42 profile image

SusieQ42 Hub Author 8 weeks ago

I try to speak in layman's terms. I hate it when I don't understand what I'm reading. Some writers think that the longer their words the better their article, but I disagree. I like simple, easy to read and understand articles that answer my questions.
