Grandpa Had a Dawg! (Another Grandpa Poem!)
66
A hunting we will go...
Grandpa loved to hunt and with him he took Dawg...
Yes, that's his name, DAWG, but dogone DAWG,
he thought he'd take off huntin' for a frog (or is that FRAWG?)
This poor frawg he jumped and jumped, first through a puddle,
then over a stump. Now, Grandpa, he tried to keep up,
although he was too old, he couldn't run, he couldn't jump,
surely not over that danged ole stump!
Then DAWG proceeded to run, after the frawg,
through a wooded area, then through a clearing,
and down a steep hill. By this time alll's Grandpa could think of was,
"that danged DAWG, I'm surely gonna kill!"

- Grandpa Dug a Hole
Grandma's rabbit died so Grandpa dug a hole. The poor old "dawg" gets the blame. - Grandpa's Hat
I have always had an interest in the history of my family. Grandpa's Hat is written with memories of my own grandfather who was a dairy farmer. He was a kid at heart and loved life!
