Word Link, a Computer Game
I play Word Link nearly every day. It's a great game for people who love words. Of course that means us! Word Link is game found on the website King.com. It's great for both kids and adults. Let me tell you how it is played.
Go to King.com and download the game Word Link. Fill out your profile information, choose a user name and password, and an avatar, then try the sample game. The object of the game is to spell as many words as you can in 4 minutes. You don't play for money; it's a totally innocent and free word game. You play for jewels but I don't pay too much attention to the rewards. I like to see if I can beat the other players. You can choose which tournament you want to play in. I play the10 player tournament but there are 4 player games and a heads up tournament with only 2 players.
When you push "start" you will see a board full of letters much like Scrabble. The timer will go off and you see how many words you can make in 4 minutes. Use your mouse to click on the letters; your words will be submitted automatically after you finish spelling them. The letters of the words you choose must be connected to each other.
There are pink and gold letter tiles that you should try to include in as many words as you can. The more you use, the higher your score will be. You will lose points if you misspell a word and you won't earn any points if you spell the same word twice. Each time you spell a word the rest of the letters on the board will move, so you'll continue to get more letters. Caution: Be sure to check on the timer once in a while; your game will come to a sudden end when you are busy trying to spell a great word! You can check the details of your game by clicking on the detail button located in the square under your score.
If you're bored, with nothing else to do, try a game of Word Link! It's also a wonderful tool to help your kids with their spelling skills. I've included the link to king.com below if you would like to try playing it.

I've not heard of this word game, I'll have to check it out. My favorite is the Bookworm series, plays a lot the same as you describe but it is made into a sort of quest. Great fun. Great hub.
Hey SusieQ42, I love word games, will check out this site! Thanks! Up and Useful :)
It sounds kind of like "Bookworm", a word game I used to play on Worldwinner. Thanks for sharing this. A little brain exercise is always good! :)
G'day SusieQ42, this game of Word-Link looks very interesting. I love my crossword puzzles and I will certainly add this to my word puzzle list.
Thanks for sharing!
Voted up. Word games are far healthier than video games, I think! Blessings.
I am definitely not a "gamer." But I do love to play word link. You should try it if you haven't already.

It sounds fun. We just play at freerice.com because we learn and it feeds the hungry for free. It increases vocabulary and word usage. Word games are awesome. It is nice to have a stress reliever.
