Joining AARP costs only $16.00 a year. The benefits for joining far outweigh the money that it costs to join. I listed some AARP benefits in an earlier hub (click on the link below); now I'd like to share some more with you.

1.) Income Tax Preparation: AARP has enlisted the help of volunteers who are both trained and certified to do your income taxes for you. For free tax preparation call this toll free number: 1-888-227-7669 or visit their website listed below for more information.

2.) Free Webinars: Join free webinars to help you plan for retirement. You will get information about Social Security, retirement advice and many other important money saving tips.

3.) Regal Movie Theaters: Regal offers special savings for seniors who are AARP members. You can buy soda, popcorn and your movie ticket for $5.50.

4.) Everydaysavings.com/faq.- AARP members can save up to 60% on everyday items such as clothing, electronics and more by shopping at the above website.

5.) Wellness Programs: You can get discounts at various gyms and personal and group training sessions. Information about this is put out by Gold Gyms and can save you money. I don't have the website for information about this but you can be sure to find it by visiting the AARP website found below.

6.) EyecareAmerica.org: This is a special discount for members who are 65 and over for free eye exams and a years follow up exam.

7.) Netflix: Netflix has a special offer for members. For signing up for a free 1 month trial you can get a $10.00 Papa John's gift card.

8.) Safe Driving Discounts: If you take a safe driver's class you can get a discount of up to 10% on your auto insurance. If you attend the class it costs $12.00 for members and $14.00 for non members. (more if you live in New York State) You can call the toll free number for locations at 1-888-227-7669 or go to the link below.

9.) Dollar General: Dollar Generals offer savings to AARP members. Ask about them when you visit Dollar General stores near you. This is a great place to save money while shopping.

10.) Restaurants: Denny's offers a 20% off discount to all members on meals between 4 PM and 10 PM daily. Dunkin Donuts also offers discounts to AARP members. For more money saving tips offered by AARP, visit the websites below.

SusieQ,

With all those great benefits, it's too bad you're too young to join AARP. But cheer up. All of that stuff will still be available 10 years from now, when you'll be eligible to join.

Also, I didn't know that AARP members could get discounts at Dunkin' Donuts. But I'll never take advantage of that. Because, you see, there are some real cute young women working in the Dunkin' Donuts shop that I frequent and I don't want any of them viewing me as the senior citizen I am. ;-)

You're so funny! No, you definitely don't want them to think you're old!! I'm sure you don't you age, so they would never guess. As for me, I used to joke about it. If it weren't for my dyed hair, my false teeth, my botox, etc., etc., you'd sure know how old I am!!! (JOKE, I said) Have a great day, God bless!

Sorry, those typos and me, we don't get along!! That should read, "I'm sure you don't look your age." Thanks for taking time to read my hubs. I do appreciate it!
