Judges 13
You can read the story of Samson in Judges, chapter 13. He was born to a man named Manoah from the family of the Danites. Manoah's wife was barren and could not conceive. An Angel of the Lord appeared to her and told her that she would have a son. He said that her son would be influential in delivering Israel out of the hands of the Philistines. He said that no razor should touch his head. She told husband that an Angel appeared to her and said she would conceive and have a son. Manoah prayed and asked the Lord to send His Angel so that he and his wife would know what to do. When Manoah's wife was in the field the Angel of the Lord appeared to her again, but Manoah wasn't with her. She ran and told Manoah and he went to the field and spoke with the Angel. He asked him what the rule of life and work would be for his son.
As the Angel said, Manoah's wife bore a son and they called him Samson. As Samson grew the Lord blessed him and he became Judge of Israel. As you read the story of Samson you will know that Samson was of great strength, but only as long as his hair was not cut. Samson, though, was not perfect. He fell in love with a Philistine woman named Delilah. She tricked him and found the reason for his great strength was in his hair. As long as his hair was not cut he was stronger than any other man. In the end Samson told her why he was so strong. She was a Philistine and knew that Samson was God's main tool in freeing Israel. When he slept she cut his hair. The Philistines gouged out Samson's eyes and he was put in prison. He was strapped with bronze fetters and became a grinder.
The Philistines lords gathered for a sacrifice to their god, Dagan. When they had much to drink they called to the prison guard to bring Samson to perform for them. Samson leaned on two pillars and prayed for the Lord to give him the strength to bring temple down upon the 3,000 Philistines who were there for the sacrifice. Samson's hair had begun to grow while in prison and the Lord gave him his strength back one last time. Samson brought down the temple and died with the Philistines. He judged Israel for 20 years.
The Lord Chose Samson
Samson was given great strength by God. He helped to free Israel from the Philistines. But Samson was not perfect! He loved beautiful women and lost his strength because of his marriage to Delilah. Samson was not perfect and God knew it before Samson was even born. God does allow us free will. He may not always want us to do the things we do, but He does allow us to anyway. He is not a prison guard. He knows we aren't perfect, but He uses us anyway. He can work around our imperfections; He knows we are human.
You never know what the Lord has in mind for you. It may be a great work, it may be a small work, but God has need of us because He can't be here physically to do it. Therefore, He uses us. He uses us despite our imperfections. We are needed in the Kingdom of God, for His will, for His purpose. Don't be afraid to say yes when God calls. Don't be afraid to do His will. After all, He may be fulfilling the dream that you have for your future!
Phil 4:19 says, "Our God can supply all your needs, according to His riches and glory by Christ Jesus."

Judges 16:4-There is no mention that Samson married Delilah. The Scripture says that he fell in love with her and they obviously began to spend time together. Samson's fornication with her was another act of straying from God and the vow to remain apart from worldly contamination.
This story of sin and redemption back to the Father is very powerful and shows that God answers prayer even when we are in the most dire circumstances of our own making. I hope many learn from this Hub and indeed go to the Bible for the details of Samson that time in Biblical history..
