What is Skype and How do I use It?

When I received an email invitation from a friend to download Skype I did a little research. I wanted to know more about it to see if it was something I might be interested in and this is what I learned.

Skype is a video based, one- on-one or group video based chat or instant messaging used on your computer, ipad, mobile phone or television. Use it to chat in person with other Skype users for free or pay a subscription fee for making calls to anyone in the world! It's both a calling plan and video based chat room that many people are enjoying for personal use, school and work. You can use Skype video calling on your PC, your mobile phone, and your television. What will you need to do this? You need access to the internet, a web cam and a microphone attached to your device.
